There isn't anything original.įortunately I live in Philly, which has a decent scene, where it is atleast possible to dig up new treasures if you try hard enough. My brother downloaded some of their stuff off the net and made us each a cd so that's been my exposure to them thus far, but as most of you might guess, it's really difficult to get anything new and exciting in the US.

They are really a fantastic band, and the more of them I hear, the more I crave. There is another post buried on page 5 in here that discusses the Chameleons, so you might want to look there, or ask our resident Chameleons expert, Ernst. Hhmmm, watch out for those "silly British fans". and history of the group, they also have a message board like this, although a lot of the posts are by silly British fans who'd rather talk about beer and football than the Chameleons(!) Good luck. You can check their website ( for the latest info. (They also did a couple of California shows). US tour is not being planned presently, but they've been playing in Europe extensively over the last 2 years. They were influenced by Beatles, Bowie and other classic 60's/70's artists, and are mistakenly thrown into the "gothic" category because their sound/lyrics tend to be dark and depressing. Besides Church, greatest guitar band of all time. They remained apart until '99/2000 when the "friends" made up, and now they're back. Their manager died in '87, then friendship between one guitarist and singer/bassist Mark Burgess split them apart.

They started around 1980 and were only together 7 years, making only three studio albums (Script of the Bridge, What Does Anything Mean, Basically?, and Strange Times). Another band I'm really digging is a band called Rialto, I can't stop listening to them. Please give me as much info on this band as possible. I just picked up their most recent cd, and it sounds like a new or different singer, so I was curious.

Did they have any lineup changes recently? Might they be touring the states anytime soon? I don't know much about them or their history but they are really great. I love this band, and discovered them only recently through my Launchcast Internet Station. Also includes some great live "semi-acoustic" versions of "Tears", "Seriocity," and 'Soul in Isolation." Highly recommended to all Church fans not familiar with the Chameleons! Live versions of "Pleasure and Pain" and "Perfume Garden" are as vital as they were nearly 20 years ago. They have not lost any of the intensity or passion in these songs. This is the best live Chams CD I have heard yet, even the band thinks so as indicated in the liner notes.
